Miss G - The Private World of Greta Garbo
Miss G., The Secret World of Greta Garbo, will display items from the personal wardrobe and New York home of Greta Garbo alongside contemporary designs to reveal that the true nature of the legendary Swedish actress - ranked as one of the greatest film stars of all time - was starkly different to the mysterious, solitary character conjured in Hollywood to promote her movies
The curators of Miss G., Belmacz designer Julia Muggenburg and fashion historian Bronwyn Cosgrave, acquired the artwork, couture and decorative objects to be exhibited from a landmark auction of Garbo’s possessions which was recently staged at Julien's Auctions in Beverly Hills, California. Juxtaposing Garbo’s possessions with luxury accessories recently created by legendary British designers Manolo Blahnik, MBE and Stephen Jones, OBE, will shed new light on her complex character and also demonstrate how her personal flair remains inspirational today, nearly a century after her Golden Era Hollywood heyday.
