White Cube Now Reps Danh Vo

BY Andrew Russeth

Danh Vo—whose recently closed survey at the Guggenheim Museum is looking like a leading contender in lists of the best museum shows of 2018 in New York—is now repped by White Cube, which has two spaces in London and one in Hong Kong, where Vo had a solo show in 2016.

Botn in Bà Rja, Vietnam in 1975, Vo currently resides in Mexico City and Berlin, and makes work by assembling diverse, often wry and perverse, collections of readymades that draw on histories of imperialism and war—sometimes ingeniously finding ways to relate them back to his own biography.

The subject of exhibitions at the National Gallery of Art and the Aspen Museum of Art in 2016 and the Museum Ludwig in Cologne and Reina Sofia in Madrid in 2015, Vo is also repped by Marian Goodman Goodman, Xavier Hufkens, Kurimanzutto, and Galerie Chantal—an almost perfect storm of high-power, critically favored galleries.
