Game On! Frieze Los Angeles Releases Exhibitor List, Rich with Blue-Chip Names

BY Andrew Russeth

Earlier this year, Frieze said that it would start a modestly sized art fair in Los Angeles—the city that not so long ago shattered the dreams of another enterprising art-fair company from abroad—and today the company revealed the 68 galleries that have signed on for the inaugural edition, which will run February 14 through 17 at Paramount Pictures Studio in Hollywood.

The list, which follows in full below, features all of the blue-chip behemoths one might expect for an ambitious international art fair. Gagosian, David Zwirner, Hauser & Wirth, Pace, Perrotin, White Cube, and Marian Goodman: they’re all here. They’re joined by well-established galleries like Sadie Coles HQ of London, Tanya Bonakdar of New York and Los Angeles, and Thomas Dane of London and Naples, as well as some smaller outfits, like Parker and Park View / Paul Soto, both of L.A., and Société, of Berlin.

Around 20 of the galleries are headquartered in the City of Angels, and some others have branches there, like Bonakdar, Matthew Marks, Jeffrey Deitch, and Karma International.

Frieze also announced that Hamza Walker, the executive director of local alternative space LAXART, has been tapped to curate the Talks and Music section of the fair. And now: the list.
