FRIEZE ART FAIR 2013

This fall Lon­don antic­i­pates the open­ing of their most esteemed fall art fair— The Frieze Art Fair. This upcom­ing Frieze project will also debut Nico­las Lees as the new lead­ing cura­tor at Frieze. Lees has devel­oped a pro­gram that resolves dia­logues between play, gov­er­nance, sov­er­eignty, and how con­tem­po­rary art func­tions as a space that illu­mi­nates these exchanges. This year Frieze Lon­don will also include site-specific com­mis­sioned pieces by Andreas Angel­i­dakis, Gerry Bibby, Rivane Neuensh­wan­der, Ken Oki­ishi, Angelo Plessas, Lili Reynaud-Dewar, and Josef Strau. The Lon­don Frieze Art Fair is unique in that it is also the plat­form for Embash Award, which each year accred­its emerg­ing artists out­side of the UK to suc­cess­fully present new mate­r­ial at Frieze Lon­don. Frieze Projects aggre­gates up and com­ing artists in a unique con­text. The artists com­mis­sioned by Frieze Lon­don wit­ness the trans­for­ma­tion of their work in an excep­tional envi­ron­ment. Frieze Lon­don begins on Octo­ber 17th, and will close on Octo­ber 20th. This will be the tenth con­sec­u­tive year that Frieze Lon­don is spon­sored by Deutsche Bank.
